Mass Incarceration:
Lessons to Learn – 75th Anniversary of Executive Order 9066

Now more important than ever, we need to teach the lessons to be learned about the injustices of Executive Order 9066 and the WWII forced removal and mass incarceration of Japanese Americans!

Our 2017 calendar commemorates the 75th Anniversary of Executive Order 9066, signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 19, 1942, which authorized the forced removal and mass incarceration of all Japanese Americans on the West Coast during World War II. The order authorized the secretary of war and any military commander designated by him "to prescribe military areas…from which any or all persons may be excluded."  Note, the executive order does not mention Japanese Americans by name.[1]

The calendar includes lesson plans created for teachers about the 10 major incarceration camps, EO 9066 and Fred Korematsu’s fight for justice.

Please help us teach the lessons of history that are so relevant now.

With your tax-deductible gift of $100.00, we will send you our 2017 calendar as our thank you gift.
